O'Shae Ho-Sang (Lasalle, QC/University of Calgary) scampered six yards in double overtime for his second touchdown of the game as the No.6 Bishop's Gaiters came back to beat the StFX X-Men 42-37 and spoil the homecoming party in Antigonish on Saturday.
Ho-Sang's two rushing touchdowns give him eight on the year to lead the AUS and tie him for most in U SPORTS. It was made possible thanks to a stunning 13-play, 75-yard touchdown drive at the end of regulation that was capped by
Marco Briones (Monterrey, Mexico/Holland College) catching a
Justin Quirion (Saint-Georges, QC/Cégep de Lévis) pass with six seconds left. The duo connected again on the two-point conversion moments later to tie the game.
In overtime Quirion found Ryan Leblanc for a 12-yard catch and run for a touchdown. StFX answered when Silas Fagan scored on a 1-yard QB sneak. In double OT, the X-Men's Ben Hadley missed a 13-yard field goal but earned a single point. The ensuing drive was capped with the Ho-Sang cut-back run to pay dirt and the Gaiters 42-37 victory.
Ho-Sang finished the game with 244 all-purpose yards including 145 on the ground and the two majors. Briones chipped in with 55 as the Gaiters put up 236 rushing yards.
Quirion went 32-46 for 354 yards, three touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. He also added 34 yards with his legs.
Charles-Édouard Bizier (Saint-Georges de Beauce, QC, Cégep Beauce-Appalaches) added the other touchdown for the Gaiters on a 28-yard reception midway through the third quarter.
Hadley was 4-for-6 on field goals while
Xavier Gervais (Ottawa, ON/Cégep de l'Outaouais) connected on his two attempts for the Gaiters.
The win moves Bishop's to 6-0 and they clinch first place in the AUS. Each year the Bigg Bowl is also contested during one of the StFX-Bishop's games, this year it was Saturday's match-up. It's the second consecutive season the game has gone to overtime.
StFX falls to 2-3 and is in a battle for second place in the conference.
Bishop's now enjoys their bye week before heading to Acadia on Oct. 19. StFX will travel to Acadia on Friday night.

O'Shae Ho-Sang (Lasalle, QC/University of Calgary) a parcouru six verges en double prolongation pour son deuxième touché du match, alors que les Gaiters de Bishop's (6e) sont revenus de l'arrière pour battre les X-Men de StFX 42-37 à Antigonish samedi.
Les deux touchdowns de Ho-Sang lui ont permis d'en marquer huit cette année, ce qui le place en tête de l'SUA et à égalité avec le plus grand nombre de U SPORTS. Le tout a été rendu possible grâce à une étonnante séquence de 13 jeux et 75 verges à la fin de la période réglementaire, qui a été couronnée par
Marco Briones (Monterrey, Mexico/Holland College) qui a capté une passe de
Justin Quirion (Saint-Georges, QC/Cégep de Lévis) à six secondes de la fin. Le duo s'est à nouveau connecté sur la conversion à deux points quelques instants plus tard pour égaliser le match.
En prolongation, Quirion a trouvé Ryan Leblanc pour une prise et une course de 12 verges pour un touché. StFX a répondu quand Silas Fagan a marqué sur un QB sneak de 1 verge. En double OT, Ben Hadley des X-Men a manqué un field goal de 13 verges mais a gagné un seul point. La séquence qui a suivi s'est terminée par une course de Ho-Sang qui a permis aux Gaiters de remporter la victoire 42-37.
Ho-Sang a terminé le match avec 244 verges, dont 145 au sol et deux majeurs. Briones a contribué avec 55 des 236 verges de course des Gaiters.
Quirion a réalisé 32-46 pour 354 yards, trois touchés et une paire d'interceptions. Il a également ajouté 34 yards avec ses jambes.

Cette année, c'était le match de samedi. C'est la deuxième saison consécutive que le match se déroule en prolongation.
StFX tombe à 2-3 et se bat pour la deuxième place de la conférence.
Bishop's profite maintenant d'une semaine de congé avant de se rendre à Acadia le 19 octobre. StFX se rendra à Acadia vendredi soir.
