The Bishop's Gaiters Women's Hockey team is off to a strong start, with the latest rankings placing them 2nd nationally, just behind UBC, and 2nd in the RSEQ, behind Concordia. It's a promising position for a team looking to build on last year's championship success.

The Gaiters hosted their home opener and banner ceremony, celebrating their 2025 National Championship. The event was filled with emotion and pride, and their focus shifted to the season ahead. The game against Université de Montréal was a roller coaster from start to finish. After falling behind 3–0 through three periods, the Gaiters staged a dramatic comeback. Sandrine Chouinard (Quebec City, QC/Cégep Limoilou) opened the scoring, followed by Rosalie Bouchard (Saint-Ambroise, QC/Cégep Limoilou), and with just three seconds left, Justine Turcotte (Drummondville, QC/John Abbott College) tied the game, sending it to overtime. In the second overtime period, Noemie Fontaine netted the game-winner, capping off a thrilling 4–3 victory. The comeback was a testament to the team's grit, resilience, and championship spirit.

The following weekend saw the Bishop's Gaiters travel to Concordia, although the result wasn't what they wanted, they had an opportunity to redeem the loss at home. The game begins and the Gaiters scored early in the first period and Concordia soon followed up with a goal of their own. Late in the second period, Gabrielle Santerre (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC/Champlain College Lennoxville) had a beautiful penalty shot goal to put the Gaiters up 2-1. From here the Gaiters defended the lead until Concordia was forced to pull their goalie, and Naomi Côté put the final nail in the coffin in the last 2 minutes of action.



Looking ahead, Bishop's has a 2-game stretch hosting McGill on Friday November 7^th and then visiting McGill on November 9^th. These next two matchups are especially significant, serving as another test in the RSEQ schedule, the Gaiters will need to take care of business and continue the strong start to the season.

Elles défendent ensuite leur avance jusqu'à ce que Concordia retire sa gardienne, et Naomi Côté scelle le sort du match dans les deux dernières minutes.

En regardant vers l'avenir, Bishop's entame une série de deux matchs, accueillant McGill le vendredi 7 novembre, puis se rendant à McGill le 9 novembre.
