Gaiters Look to Soar into the Win Column Against Mounties

The Bishop's Gaiters will take flight to face the Mount Allison Mounties on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. (Eastern) in Sackville, N.B.
 
The Records:
The Gaiters are 0-2, after falling 40-21 to Saint Mary's on Saturday in Lennoxville.  They lost 27-10 to Acadia in Wolfville, N.S. in their first AUS contest.  Mount Allison is 1-1, after winning their first game 64-23 over Acadia and losing their second 37-0 to St. Francis Xavier.  The Mounties are coming off a bye week.

Last Time Out:
The Gaiters home opener was spoiled by Saint Mary's as they were defeated 40-21.  The Huskies took a 23-0 lead late into the first quarter and led 28-7 at halftime.  
 
For Bishop's, Nathan WalkerZachary Benson and Dashaun Smellie all caught touchdown passes from Mathieu Demers, who went 20-for-41 and threw for 217 yards and three interceptions. Benson led all receivers with 83 yards on six catches.  Trey Millings (Laval, Que./Champlain-Lennoxville) rushed for 79 yards on 19 carries. 
 
Pier-Alexis Raymond led Bishop's defense with 10.5 tackles and an interception.  Arnaud Dandin had eight tackles and an interception. Jackie Lindor had Bishop's other interception, while Mathieu Breton made the only sack for the Gaiters.
 
Previous Match-ups:
The Gaiters and Mounties have matched up five times in the RSEQ-AUS crossover, with the Gaiters holding a 3-2 edge in the series.  This will be the Gaiters 1st time on the new Alumni Field at Mount Allison.

Fueling Up:
Walker was named the Subway Player of the Game for his performance on Saturday.  He had 179 all-purpose yards and a touchdown. 
 
Up Next:
It is homecoming next weekend in Lennoxville, the Gaiters will host StFX at 2 p.m. on Coulter Field.
