SHERBROOKE, Que. - In their first meeting since 2016, the Sherbrooke Vert et Or cruised by the Bishop's Gaiters 42-0 in an exhibition match-up on Friday night on Coulter Field in Lennoxville. With the win Sherbrooke hoists the trophy for winning La Match de L'Autoroute 410.

Thanks to three pick-sixes including one at the end of the second quarter after Bishop's had marched 59 yards deep into Sherbrooke territory, the Vert et Or were able to shut out Bishop's. 

The Gaiters return to practice this week as they will prepare of their Atlantic University Sport opener on Saturday, Sept. 25 against the Mount Allison Mounties in Sackville, N.S. 

We caught up with Gaiters head coach Cherif Nicolas after the game:


Nathan Walker (Brampton, Ont./St. Roch C.S.S.) finished with two catches for 41 yards, he also returned three punts for 14 yards and four kickoffs for 72 yards. 

Zach Graveson (Sherbrooke, Que./Champlain-Lennoxville) caught two passes for 34 yards. 

The teams showed early season rust as they combined for 40 penalties, Sherbrooke taking 22 for 180 yards and Bishop's committing 18 fouls costing them 140 yards.
